Waffles for breakfast on weekends has been a long-standing tradition in my family. That is the one thing we agree on because when it comes to the toppings for every member of the family has a favorite from traditional syrup or fruits to more unconventional toppings such as jam, custard, or nuts to just to name a few. Overnight Waffles with Blueberies
Enjoy these overnight waffles with blueberries.
- 2 1/2 spoons dry yeast
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup blueberries

Combine the yeast and the water in a large mixing bowl. Stir to make sure the yeast is dissolved and let it sit for a few minutes.

Combine the butter with the milk, water, and salt in a large bowl.

Add the yeast, eggs, and flour. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.

Finally, cover over with a seal and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat the waffle iron and brush lightly with oil.

Mix the batter evenly.

Pour the batter to the iron and top with blueberries.

Cook waffles until golden about 3 minutes.

To serve, add melted butter and syrup and serve warm.
